Flying with the littles

My dear friend Cierra from The Yellow House 

posted a great article full of tips on flying with babies and toddlers. 

She regularly flies with her little one so she is definitely a "Mom who knows"! 

{If you're new here, a "Mom Who Knows" is what I call a Mommy blogger who has a great tip/advice that the rest of us Mommies could benefit from.}

Sidenote: Cierra's little son Cash has CAH: Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia. In a nutshell, his body doesn't produce the right amounts of certain hormones. This is so dangerous that if he is under any physical or emotional stress, any at all, he could go into a coma and potentially even die! To read more about Cash and his story CLICK HERE! It's very inspiring

And Stop by her blog to see her photography. She occasionally sells her photography to help pay for Cash's medical bills. She is an amazing photographer! And I'm not just saying that because she is my friend :) Check out her "Secret Life Of Benches" .She ties a camera to a bench and leaves it there for strangers to find and take pictures. So creative!

Seriously... How cute are these?! And practical, AND fun!!

Go to her blog for a complete tutorial on how to sew one from scratch.

You could also use an existing pillowcase (new ones at Walmart are only a couple dollars for a package of 2) and simply sew a pocket onto the front and a handle on the side.

These would be fun for sleepovers as well!

Encouraging Good Behavior in the Car

Can I just say that I LOVE scouring blogs/Pinterest for good parenting ideas! So many Moms out there have the best ideas!!

Take this one from Less Than Perfect Life of Bliss for example:

Road Trip Clips!

This lovely lady scrapbooked some clothespins but you could also just buy some different colored clips and coordinate with your child's assigned color (pink for jane, blue for john, etc) 

(which is what I'll do as my kids are color coordinated)

You'll have to head on over to her blog in order to see how she fully incorporates them 

but in a nut shell... if you fight, whine, or make a bad decision your clip comes down. If your clip comes down you don't get a treat at your next stop. 

She used these clips for a 16 hour road trip with much success! However, I see no reason why these couldn't be utilized for a 10 minute car ride to the grocery store!
